قسم الاقتصاد Economics Dept.
يعد قسم الاقتصاد البذرة الاولى لتأسيس كلية الادارة والاقتصاد خلال العام الدراسي 2000-2001. كانت الكلية تابعة الى جامعة القادسية الى ان استقلت واصبحت تابعة الى جامعة واسط بعد تأسيسها عام 2003. وقد تطور القسم واصبح يستوعب العديد من طلبة الدراسات الاولية والعليا بفروع مختلفة اذ يضم القسم دراسة الدبلوم العالي في دراسات الجدوى الاقتصادية ودراسة الماجستير والدكتوراه اضافة الى دراسة البكالوريوس في الاقتصاد. كما تم يحتوي القسم ايضا في برنامجه للدراسات العليا دراسة الماجستير في دراسات الجدوى الاقتصادية وتقييم المشاريع .
The Department of Economics is the first seed for establishing the College of Administration and Economics during the academic year 2000-2001. The college was affiliated with the University of Al-Qadisiyah until it became independent and became affiliated with the University of Wasit after its founding in 2003. The department has developed and now accommodates many undergraduate and graduate students in different branches. The department includes higher diploma studies in economic feasibility studies, master’s and doctoral studies, in addition to bachelor’s studies in Economy. A master’s degree in economic feasibility studies and project evaluation has also been introduced.

يسعى القسم الى ان يكون من الاقسام المتميزة سواء المدخلات والمخرجات من الناحية العلمية والادارية للطلبة والمنتسبين من كوادر ادارية واعضاء هيئة تدريس من خلال تطبيق معايير ضمان الجودة والاعتماد الاكاديمي لوزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي ، اضافة الى مواكبة التطورات العلمية من الناحية الاقتصادية بما يواكب الاقسام المناظرة في الجامعات المحلية والدولية .
The department seeks to be one of the distinguished departments, both through inputs and outputs from a scientific and administrative standpoint. The department targets students and members of administrative staff through faculty members. This is done by applying the quality assurance and academic accreditation standards of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In addition to keeping pace with scientific developments from an economic standpoint, keeping pace with the corresponding departments in local and international universities.

تتمثل رسالة القسم بتهيئة كوادر اقتصادية قادرة على النهوض بالاقتصاد العراقي بما يتلائم مع متطلبات سوق العمل من خلال مواكبة التطورات العلمية على المستوى العالمي .
The department’s mission is to prepare economic cadres capable of advancing the Iraqi economy in a way that suits the requirements of the labor market by keeping pace with scientific developments at the global level.
اهداف القسم The Goals
يهدف القسم الى تحقيق الاتي :-
1- اعداد مخرجات بشرية قادرة على رفد المؤسسات الحكومية بما تحتاجه من كوادر اقتصادية .
2- اعداد باحثين متخصصين في مجال العلوم الاقتصادية ودراسات الجدوى الاقتصادية والطاقة .
3- التحسن والتوسع في الاستجابة لمتطلبات سوق العمل .
4- توفير المناخ التعليمي الملائم لمنتسبي القسم سواء طلبة او كادر تدريسي واداري .
5- التوسع في استحداث دراسات عليا لفروع يتطلبها سوق العمل .
6- المساهمة الفاعلة في معالجة المشكلات الاقتصادية على المستوى المحلي من خلال البحث العلمي .
The department aims to achieve the following:
1- Preparing well trained human source capable of obeying the need of government institutions with the economists they need.
2- Preparing specialized researchers in the field of economic sciences, economic feasibility studies and energy.
3- Improvement and expansion in response to labor market requirements.
4- Providing an educational environment suitable for the department’s members, whether students or teaching and administrative staff.
5- Expanding the creation of postgraduate studies in branches required by the labor market.
6- Effective contribution to addressing economic problems at the local level through scientific research.
